Meeting of the Minds-Why you should attend

Gonstead Chiropractors attend the Gonstead Meeting of the Minds for many reasons. The main reason is to keep learning how to expand your ability to handle virtually every case that walks into your office. The learning program is like a double-barrel shotgun of information. Speakers present information that directly applies to your practice. Your education will continue in the halls during break, at dinner, and while enjoying a cocktail at the Saturday evening hospitality hour. Every attending doctor is a Gonstead Fellow/Diplomate or has practiced Gonstead technique for 20 years. Most have achieved both.

A second reason, I think, is even more important. That is to keep Gonstead “Gonstead”.  The Meeting of the Minds is the only forum for experienced Gonstead Doctors to exchange ideas while keeping within the basic Gonstead premises. These doctors attend because they want to be a part of how Gonstead clinical principles apply to current and future times and by understanding how they applied in the past. Try to imagine what information Dr. Gonstead would have for us today, had he somehow kept practicing over the last 30+ years. 

Probably the most important reason to attend is “to fund research”.  As Gonstead chiropractors, we must respond to the critical need for research in order to survive in the future.  The Meeting of the Minds is a labor of love for many doctors. Some donate their time to attend as speakers and pay the normal registration fee.  Your registration fee is nothing less than sending a donation directly to the Research Fund. It is that plain and simple.

Another reason is the 12 hours of CE for relicensing.

Some doctors attend for the peripheral events of the weekend. For example, doctors come to teach “starving students” (starving for knowledge and direction that is) at the Free Friday night Gonstead student workshop hosted by GCSS.

Another reason, not previously announced, is the Saturday evening hosted Hospitality Reception. We will toast all attending Gonstead doctors who have practiced for three or more decades. Doctors who have practiced four decades or more will be recognized with special honors. If you are one of these doctors, come to the reception and share your secrets for practice longevity. The younger Diplomates need to know how it is done.

Last but not least, a great reason to attend MoM 2011 is the filming of “The Chiromentary”. Dr. Rahim Salehmohamed will interview speakers and seasoned doctors at MoM and SCUHS for the first chiropractic documentary. Dr. Rahim closed his practice some time ago to focus his energies on this global project. Come meet Dr. Rahim and learn what he has seen and documented during his journey around the world.

Other good reasons doctors attend include having great laughs, camaraderie, and professional rejuvenation.
